I Don’t Normally Post On A Saturday But…
Just a quick round up of latest happenn…….
Sorry, nearly fell asleep there while contemplating the excitement level of the exclusives I’m about to reveal.
1. The Fountain has recently had a Link Cash machine installed…
No longer do you have to walk all the way up to Darrs shop on Toller Lane if you wish to withdraw money from your bank account. No longer do you have to go to the Kings and purchase a pint just to get some wedge for a tin of beans from the Premier. You can now draw cash from the newly installed cash machine at the Fountain, minimum transaction £20, maximum charge £1.50. And why not have a pint while you’re there?
2. Unconfirmed murmurings about sub-standard aleage elsewhere in the village sees Fountain client base suffer exponential growth during Friday night session…
‘Nuff said!
3. Helen’s mum has found the Old Heatonian on the Internet…
‘Hi Helens mum’
4. and finally…
Local blogger Mick Baines, flush with excitement following the recent installation of his Sky Broadband service, and the purchase of his new Asus EEE mini laptop thingumajig, has launched a new website on an unsupecting public.
It’s about pies.
Although the first article is about potted meat.
It’s rivetting stuff as you’d imagine.
Read more here.
Really, life has just GOT to get more exciting than this!

So you fell for my elaborate wind up then. By the way which pubs are selling inferior ale.

Apologies to anyone wishing to check out Dribblys new website – it’s now a dead link!

Surely its still better to get cashback at the Kings than get charged £1.50 to take your own money out at the Fountain? A pint of Becks, at £2.60, then only *really* costs £1.10 cos you’ve saved yourself £1.50. Bargain!

Precisely the reason why I pointed out the charges at the Fountain – noone in their right mind would pay £1.50 to get their money out of that machine! Irony.

Although there is a 50p charge at the Kings, and they always deduct the price of your beer from the CashBack, which makes it awkward if you need precisely £10 – you have to ask for:
10.00 cash back
00.50 transaction charge
2.60 beer charge
_______
£13.10 in total

£2.60 for a pint of non-premium lager? Outrageous!!
